Story

In the colorveil world, the lands were divided by invisible walls, separating people by the colors they were born into. Each color ruled over its own land—The Blue Kingdom controlled the oceans, The Green Dominion flourished in forests, The Red Empire burned with passion, The Pink Valley thrived on love, and The Golden Highlands gleamed with wealth.

But there was one unspoken rule: no one could cross the walls.

Over time, the lands became unbalanced. The size of the Color poms, magical orbs representing each land’s prosperity, showed the truth:

  • The lands with the largest sprites (Blue and Green) were the richest, thriving in resources and stability.
  • The medium-sized sprites (Red and Pink) were struggling but not desperate.
  • The smallest sprites (Yellow and scattered colors at the top) barely had anything, they are poor and are struggling to survive)

EXERCISE 02: L.A.T.C.H INFOGRAPHIC POSTER

Figure 2.2
Sketch (12/02/25)

  • This idea, I found out that the word evolution is matching with the years
  • This gives me more room for ideas using alignment.

Figure 2.3
Sketch (12/02/25)

  • using the silhouette of Coco Channel herself and adding a ring of photos from each year behind her.
  • also adding her quote on the top "Less Is more"

Figure 2.4
Sketch (12/02/25)

  • Having a mindmap design with small graphics here and there.
  • I did not use this idea because there would be limited room for the title.

Figure 2.5
Sketch (12/02/25)

  • This design was inspired by the shape of the famous Chanel no. 5 perfume bottle.

Figure 2.6
Sketch (12/02/25)

  • Using a more simple approach, by just adding one line of the years that highlight the evolution of Chanel.

Figure 2.7
Sketch (12/02/25)

  • Having a mindmap design with small graphics here and there.
  • I did not use this idea because there would be limited room for the title.

Figure 2.8
Sketch (12/02/25)

  • adding more elements to my design this time.
  • using a photo strip design and boxes to separate the topics.
  • adding graphics here and there as well.

Attempt 1 (12/02/25)

  • Sir told me to add color and be more specific on the title.
  • try to add some color.
  • label everything.

REFLECTION

The two exercises we did allowed me to explore different aspects of creativity, design, and information presentation, helping me develop both artistic and communicative skills.

Exercise 1: Pompom Pattern and Graph with Title

In the first exercise, we created a pattern using pompoms, and incorporated a graph with a title. I enjoyed the hands-on aspect of this activity, as working with physical materials like pompoms allowed me to engage in a more tactile form of creativity. It was interesting to see how the small, simple pompoms could come together to form a larger, cohesive pattern. I learned that even simple elements can create something visually interesting if organized thoughtfully.

The challenge of integrating a graph with the pattern made me think more critically about how to blend artistic elements with informational ones. The graph wasn’t just a numerical representation; it needed to complement the pattern while being clear and easy to understand. This taught me the importance of balance in design, ensuring that both aesthetics and functionality work together. Adding the title provided context, and it was important to choose words that would both inform and engage the viewer. I realized how essential clarity is in any form of visual communication.

Exercise 2: Infographic Poster on the Evolution of Chanel

The second exercise was creating an infographic poster, and I chose to focus on the evolution of Chanel. I found this task exciting because it gave me the opportunity to merge my interest in fashion history with design skills. Designing an infographic required me to condense complex information into digestible, visually appealing elements. I had to think carefully about the layout, choosing the right icons, typography, and color schemes to both represent the evolution of the brand and communicate the essence of Chanel effectively.

This exercise helped me appreciate the role of visual storytelling in conveying historical or conceptual information. Infographics are powerful tools for summarizing large amounts of data in a way that’s both engaging and easy to understand. I realized that making such a poster is more than just putting information together; it’s about creating a narrative that flows and makes sense for the viewer. The design had to reflect the luxury and elegance associated with Chanel while also being informative.

Conclusion:

Both exercises allowed me to experiment with different design principles, from tactile materials to digital design, which helped me improve my ability to communicate visually. I learned that design is not just about how something looks but also about how it conveys meaning and engages the audience. Balancing creativity with clarity was a key takeaway from both projects, and I feel more confident in my ability to approach design challenges with both artistic and informative elements in mind.
