Task 3: Design Process
Chosen UNSDG 2`: Zero Poverty
Inspiration
Figure 1.2
Idea 1: Zero Poverty 6/3/2024
Idea 1 Description:
i want to showcase the difference in mother hood between a mother and her child living in poverty and a mother and child living a comfortable life. it would be a half and half drawing where two mothers holding their child will be facing back to back, one showing how happy and well fed the mother and child is while the other mother and child is skinny and malnourished.
how does this relate and help the goal?
make people aware of families that are suffering and in need
make people remember that they are very privileged and in hopes to donate some / volunteer to help those who aren't as privileged
how they are both mothers with children but yet are living completely different lives and children who have completely different futures
how is this artwork made?
the artwork will be made drawn in sketch and the background will be completely black.

Figure 1.3
Idea 2: Zero Poverty 6/3/2024
Idea 2 Description:
make an eye-catching poster by making it colorful, adding the effects of poverty such as: starvation, homelessness and more. the background will be a poster having the effects written down and doodles of designs related to that specific effect using the pattern like circles to separate them, making them not too messy and understandable. the the middle would be a skinny figure with a cup in hand (beggar) traced in white/ black (whichever one is more noticeable) and words in white/ black (whichever one is more noticeable) saying "Zero Poverty"
how does this relate and help the goal?
show people the effects of poverty
how is this artwork made?
using illustrator

Figure 1.4
Idea 3: Zero Poverty 6/3/2024
Idea 3 Description:
i want to create a simple colored artwork of a child living in poverty with no clothing siting in the dining room of a very run down cottage with no decorations on the walls or the background and an empty plate Infront of him. using a white line to draw over that artwork, i will draw what could've been the circumstance's instead by drawing a full meal Infront of him, clean and neat clothing on, picture frames, flowers and any type of decoration around him and more.
how does this relate and help the goal?
to show people what could've been their future but because of poverty, they don't have as much.
hopefully encourage people / let people know what they could donate to them
how is this artwork made?
using illustrator

RATIONALE
For this design, i decided to create a continues street showing different topics on poverty, the first design being how the girl is picking out food from the trash with a restaurant in the background. The second design showing a girl wearing worn-out clothing looking at the clothing shop in the background. The third design showing how a mother and her children are living on the streets with a resident building in the background. each of these designs have a white line showing 'How it could be.' meaning how it could be if some of us donated or show support support for the people in poverty.

The purpose of the design is to show people what could happen if they would just show a little bit of support for the people in poverty and I tried to make the design eye-catching in hopes for more people to see the poster.

The design principles observed are emphasis, on the white line and the typography that i placed in a box to make it stand out. There is also contrast in the white line and the background. Approximate balance because the character placement on the left and right is similar.

FEEDBACK

13/3/2024: specific feedback: shelter, hunger, clothing, these three main poster ideas for the poster series.
poster series is 3 posters with similar art style, can be continuation but mainly can be recognized to be made by the same artist
can just continue from the idea 3 sketch and branch out the 3 poster sketches.
can be a group of kids in different environment
next week, see sketches and digitalization.

20/3/2024: specific feedback: you can make the background completely dedicated to that specific topic such as for hunger. you put a restaurant behind the characters.
